Helping Sales Professionals Increase Performance, Resilience, and Client Impact 🧠 PQ Mental Fitness Coach for Senior Professionals & Teams | Purposeful Leadership & Life Integration 🌟

🛑 Anyone can call themselves a coach. Be careful! 🛑 This morning, I received an email from a licensed professional who has years of experience in their field and has been offering consulting services. Now, they’re promoting “coaching” services for entrepreneurs across all industries. And they have limted space for their $15k 6-month program. As an ICF-accredited coach, I was curious. I checked the International Coaching Federation (ICF) website to see if this person was a credentialed coach or a member of the ICF—and their name did not come up. I also searched other reputable coaching associations, but they weren’t listed there either. Unfortunately, this isn’t surprising, but it is deeply concerning. Coaching is a highly personal and impactful process. It requires a commitment to rigorous training and adherence to ethical standards. Yet, many individuals label themselves as coaches without proper training or understanding of coaching ethics. This should be a major concern for anyone seeking to hire a coach. A critical distinction: Coaching is not the same as consulting or mentoring. Coaches do not offer guidance or advice. Instead, coaching is about partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their potential. To become an International Coaching Federation (ICF) coach, one must complete at least 60 hours of coach-specific training and commit to upholding the ICF Code of Ethics. ICF Credential-holders and Mentor Coaches must meet even higher education and experience standards. The ICF Definition of Coaching: ICF defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. This process often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity, and leadership. Having a clear understanding of this definition is vital. It helps distinguish true coaching from other modalities like consulting or mentoring. Before hiring a coach, make sure they are properly trained, credentialed, and committed to ethical standards. Your growth and well-being deserve nothing less. #coaching #coachesforconferences #icfcoaches #advocacy #professionalism #ethicsincoaching #buyerbeware ICF South Florida Charter Chapter

I'm just as excited to see old friends as I am to make new ones next week while #speaking and #coaching at IMEX. Are you coming in early for Smart Monday? I'll be in the Meeting Professionals International booth from 9a - 3p to discuss the benefits of professional coaching and MPI's brand new Professional Development Coaching Cohorts sponsored by Visit Fort Worth, kicking off our second round at IMEX. A few coaching spots are still available Tuesday through Thursday. Kudos to #IMEX for recognizing the importance and value of providing this service to attendees. The #meetings industry is starting to recognize the importance of human skills to improve employee well-being, relationships, AND productivity through coaching! Lastly, if you want to learn how to shore up your #boundaries or level up your #stress management care, I'll speak on Tuesday on Boundaries and Thursday on Completing the Stress Cycle, both in the Wellness Wheel (as is the Coaching Corner). I'll see you there!

  • The Gallup State of the Global Workplace Report came out this morning. We can do better—all of us. Unabated work-related Stress and Mental Health continue to be front and center, impacting employee well-being. We hear this from the people we #coach at conferences; 'stuck,' 'juggling,' 'can't get out of the weeds,' 'hectic,' 'crazy-busy,' and 'overwhelmed,' to name a few. People are maxed out and ready to tap out. As coaches, we offer strategies and tools for these stressed-out employees to learn to build #boundaries and decrease stressors. The report is free from Gallup and worth the read! 'Meeting Professionals International Vimari Román, PCC, CPQC, CMM 🧠💪🏼 #eventprofessional #burnout

  • Coaches often work with their clients to develop strategies and habits to support them in processing their stress and getting better rest. In less than 10 minutes, everyone in this audience has learned an easy, FREE, and effective technique for reducing their stress quickly.

While my well-established circadian rhythms never allow me to stay up late enough to catch these live talk shows, I was able to catch the replay of the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon's interview with Andrew Huberman this morning. I love the #breathing #technique he teaches the audience to reduce the stress they're feeling in their bodies immediately. It is SO SIMPLE and truly effective. He also talks about the #brain and how important #rest and #sleep are for our brains to recover and sort overnight. If you're joining me in #Pittsburgh for our conversation on avoiding #burnout and managing stress, this is a great primer to get you in the mindset!

  • We are back at it again at #WEC! We love the NOOK Pods and check out the branding! Perfect sponsorship opportunity for a conference and value to the attendees by having compliments coaching. #coachesforconferences #meetings #conferences #coaching #meetingprofs #attendeevalue

  • While this is opinion, there is science behind it! Coaching is all about forward movement, changing behaviors, and reaching goals. That can often include building or breaking habits. We now know that building a #practice is more likely to become a #habit than a routine. Why? Life gets in the way, and routines are often very fixed and inflexible. By building a practice, one is more likely to stick to the added change in one's life, fitting it in where one can, which is incredibly flexible. What new habit are you trying to create, and how might you approach it differently after reading this article?

  • It only takes one nugget from a coaching conversation with a professional coach to help you think a little deeper, gain more clarity, and feel more confident about something that's troubling you, giving you pause, or keeping you up at night. When you invite professional coaches to your meetings to provide pro-bono coaching sessions to your attendees, incredible things can happen for both parties involved. For those who lean into the opportunity, some benefits they might receive include the following: - Making a crucial decision with more confidence. - Finally, I am leaning into a difficult conversation that has been put off. - Gaining clarity about something that was previously unclear. - Revealing a blind spot that can now be properly managed. For you as the event planner, a price tag cannot be put on the added value you are bringing to your conference! Attendees in all industries are begging for interaction and professional development beyond industry expertise. This is only a small sample of the potential benefits that can come from just one coaching conversation. If you've had a coaching conversation before, what was your aha moment? What did you walk away with? #coaching #leadershipcoach #meetingplanner #learning #growing #conferences
