CMD Careers

Last week marked my first 3 months at Atkins Realis. 👌 🎉 In that time I've completed work for 3 projects, 2 internal deliverables and joined a team with an incredibly welcoming and encouraging culture. It was a busy week. I travelled to Birmingham for a full day of FME data management training led by Matthew Banyard and hearing from Duncan McLeish , Sam Collier, Liam Hemsworth and Lindsey Nicholson . In the evening we went to the Christmas Market and I got to catch up with other grads in D&AI. 🎄 The next day I travelled to London Millenium Hotel for another introductory social where we heard from guest speakers about positive mindset, public speaking and making a good corporate impression. It was great to network with apprentices and grads across functionalities, offices and departments. 👔 To wrap up on Thursday I attended a town hall with the CEO and executive team present. The London office broadcasted the session to the global firm providing us with snacks and ice cream. The session was entertaining and informative. 🍦🍦🍦 Moving to the future next week I am going to Bristol to visit University of West England. 👀

It's been a month since we launched CMD Careers. The support has been awesome and meeting students and other founders to discuss ideas has really helped us grow 💪 👉 We hit 100 followers on this page and have crossed 15,000 followers across all socials 👉 we have 200 regular members on the website 👉 we have finished 50 career 1-1 calls It's been a crazy first month and there's still so much to do. This weekend we were at King's College London for their technology careers event. A big thank you to Minseok Ryu and Ekaterina Hunter for inviting & accommodating us, we look forward to future events with you both! The opportunity to see how students react to the platform is really valuable and it feels great that people see the value we see 👌👌 Big things to come 👀 Lots of new calls to book and document Upcoming events: Liam-Elio Colabuono-McDonagh will be speaking at the University of Nottingham as an alumni member. Super excited to be entering a mutual support partnership with the team at Wannabee Learning! 🤝 Having had our Co-Founder Paul-Nino Colabuono-McDonagh and Wannabee Co-Founder Yusei Ogita meet & build up their conversations. It's evident that the potential that this Start-up team has is immense and we'd love to support them however we can! Having seen their product first hand we feel like it's a must see so keep an eye out for the launch date along with potential beta testing opportunities! 💡

Coming up on our 3rd week as a start up, here's what we've managed to achieve! 💡 1. 11 Individuals provided with 1:1 consults where we have dived deeper into their respective concerns & challenges within the early careers space! We are glad to have received some amazing feedback & testimonials from members like Katherine Kosigin, Mahnoor Ali Syeda, and Diana Boboc ! 2. Provided 15+ CV reviews along with additional CL templates & LinkedIn checks! 3. Grew this page to 72 follows while testing differing styles of postings! Began and grew our TikTok page gaining near 2,000 views on one of our videos! Gained around 100,000 impressions across all social medias since launch! 4. Began partnerships talks with many Secondary Schools, Universities, and other Businesses! 5. Nearly finished our "Guides" section which will contain amazing pieces of information from outstanding members of our community! Over the past week we have dabbled with short-from content through our TikTok and YouTube channels! 📸 It’s an extremely different medium to LinkedIn which both our founders are used to! However, the massive upside potential within short-from content cannot be denied so over the course of the 1st year here at CMD Careers both our founders will be learning the ins & outs of these social medias! One way you could help us get these channels off the ground is by simply subscribing to the YouTube channel and following our TikTok! We’ll be providing insight into our founders day to day activities as start up business owners while studying & working full time! 📹 From this you’ll see: 👀 - What a consulting graduate role is actually like!   - What it’s like in a final year economics degree! - What goes into building up a business from square 1 onwards!
