Last week, Jared Magyar, our Vice President of Operations & Facilities, alongside the USCG Marine Safety Unit Cleveland and USCG Activities Europe, had the honor of hosting representatives from the Port of Matadi and the Ministry of Transport of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The purpose of the visit was to share our best practices in port security and safety to help strengthen their efforts in these critical areas. The Port of Cleveland adheres to the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002 (MTSA), enforced by the USCG and Department of Homeland Security, to ensure the highest standards of safety. 🚧 Seasonal Dredging Has Begun! 🚧 We’re entering the second round of seasonal dredging to ensure our river channels remain at the proper depth for large vessels. This vital process supports the safe and efficient movement of goods, keeping our port operations running smoothly and helping sustain regional trade. JUST ANNOUNCED | Dave Gutheil will step in as interim leader of the Port of Cleveland in January 2025, following Will Friedman's departure. With over 14 years at the Port, Gutheil brings deep experience in maritime operations and business development.
