About us
Wheat Ridge embodies the deep roots of a City with a rich history, that dates back to the early 1800s, and a strong sense of community. Its central location provides shorts commutes to major interstate highways, a soon-to-open commuter rail line, the majestic Rocky Mountains, and the amenities of the large metropolitan City of Denver, Colorado. With easy access from I-70, you can be skiing, hiking or participating in a wide range of internationally-acclaimed mountain sports in less than an hour. Wheat Ridge is a home-rule City, operating under a Council-Manager form of government. In this form of government, the Council is the governing body of the City elected by the public, and the manager is hired by Council to carry out the policies it establishes. The Council consists of eight members, two from each Council District, and an at-large, elected Mayor.

What an amazing weekend celebrating the holidays together! This year’s Annual City Holiday Celebration was a true testament to the power of teamwork and collaboration across departments. From ensuring safety with our dedicated Police Department to the Park & Recreation Team’s hard work in event activities, setup, and cleanup, it was all hands on deck. It's not just about the work—we also had a lot of fun! When we come together as a team, magic happens. These moments of collaboration make our work so fulfilling, and we look forward to many more celebrations like this!

Robots probably won't take our jobs, but they sure make them more efficient! We're excited to share how the Turf Tank Two autonomous robotic field painter is transforming the way we maintain our athletic fields! Here’s why we’re loving it: Time-Saver: It drastically reduces setup time for soccer seasons, cutting down weeks of manual labor twice a year and allowing team members more time to complete other tasks. Cost Efficiency: We’re now using just a fraction of the paint we used to—down from 100+ gallons a week to just about 20 gallons! Precision & Quality: The Turf Tank uses GPS positioning to paint high-precision sports lines with exceptional accuracy. Plus, it runs on rechargeable batteries, making it an eco-friendly choice!
