As we move into the next administration, we must stay vigilant and do all we can to support and protect newcomers in this country, whether they identify as refugees, asylum seekers, or immigrants. It was such an honor to create space for advocates who are doing so day in and day out in partnership with . Thank you Refugee Advocacy Lab for giving us the opportunity to facilitate your all team retreat 2 weeks ago to strategize and plan for 2025.

About us
Cities & People Advisors partners with organizations to achieve transformational change and end systemic oppression. Thank you Dar'rell Jones from the BLU Educational Foundation for the wonderful testimonial!! "I had the absolute pleasure of working with Cities and People for the past few months! Such an incredibly professional, light hearted, welcoming and engaging group of facilitators and coaches! Being able to host 2 plus hour learning sessions through Zoom and keep everyone engaged with valuable information is no easy feat but they managed to do it with such grace! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would definitely work with them again in the future! Thanks again for all that you guys do! We love working with funders who care deeply about how they show up for their grantees! Yesterday we shared Partnering for Impact, a compendium of stories of collaboration from the Policy Ecosystem grantees of College Futures Foundation. Today we'd love to share with you another outcome of our learning engagement with College Futures. Through the engagement, several themes emerged around the Foundation's strategy with its policy research and advocacy grantees. We learned lessons we felt were important to share with other philanthropic foundations on how they can support their grantees and help enhance their impact in movement-building, policy change, and systems change through breaking down silos and reducing competition as much as possible. It was an absolute pleasure for C&P to co-author this piece with the thoughtful, gracious, and passionate Ria Bhatt. Thank you again to all of the grantees, to College Futures Foundation, Theresa Esparrago Lieu, Williams Group, @Tanya Moore, and Regan Douglass for everything you all did to make this happen! And thank you again to Northern California Grantmakers for sharing this report out! We are honored and filled with gratitude for the opportunity to work in partnership with College Futures Foundation for the past year on a learning engagement to dig deep into their strategy of convening research and advocacy grantees together over the past four years. Through this project, we were able to connect with 16 organizations who are spearheading higher education equity policy in California. The work they do every day is critical, but it is the people who do the work who inspire us and give us hope for a better future for all Californians. Today we are sharing a compendium we created with bright spots of collaboration among the cohort--stories of impact, learning, and connection that have had and will continue to have lasting effects on students and their families. Please check out Partnering for Impact: Propelling the Movement for an Equitable Higher Education System: https://lnkd.in/g-Jr6M93 Huge thank you's to College Futures Foundation for bringing us into your community. We especially thank Ria Sengupta Bhatt and Theresa Esparrago Lieu for your thoughtful partnership with us! Thank you to Tanya Moore for your support with bringing us into the space, and to Williams Group for the beautiful design. And we share our deep appreciation for the Policy Ecosystem grantees and all that they do: California Competes Campaign for College Opportunity EdTrust-West John Burton Advocates for Youth NextGen Policy Public Advocates The Institute for College Access & Success #facilitation #strategicplanning #projectmanagement #facilitation
