Huge shoutout to our team members Taylor Greene and Emily Long for representing Circ® at the #WIREDBigInterview Science Fair in San Francisco last week! The positive reception to Circ’s mission and innovations was incredible, and it’s inspiring to see so much enthusiasm for #circularity in fashion. We’re proud of the work our team is doing to lead these important conversations and build a more sustainable future. Thanks WIRED for such a great event.
"Incredible!" "This is something the world really needs!" "What your team is doing is amazing!" - Literally everyone learning about Circ® at the #WIREDBigInterview Science Fair Emily Long and I took on the #WIREDBigInterview Science Fair in San Francisco last week, showcasing Circ®'s technology and products alongside other platforms, technologies, and ideas that are shaping our shared future. If you've been following Circ®, you know that we're looking to do just that - completely reshape the wasteful, linear model of fashion into a fully circular loop. From the unique installation artfully explaining our process, to the beautiful output products lining our clothing rack, event attendees were easily able to envision a world in which textile-to-textile recycling was the norm, not the exception. Thank you to WIRED - especially Jen Truc Kaplan - for the invite!

✨ This year, Canopy’s Next Gen Solutions partner, Circ®, teamed up with designer extraordinaire Christian Siriano to make fashion history. At New York Fashion Week, Siriano unveiled two breathtaking looks featuring Circ’s innovative lyocell fabric—made from recycled fibers sourced from polycotton blended waste textiles. 🌍👗 This groundbreaking moment showcased how fashion can lead the way in sustainability. By transforming textile waste into high-end designs, we not only keep clothing out of landfills but also reduce the demand for forest-derived materials. A true win-win for style and the planet! As we reflect on 2024, this collaboration reminds us that being fashionable doesn’t have to cost the Earth. Let’s keep raising the bar for circular design as we step into 2025 https://bit.ly/4ePVePc #NextGenSolutions #CircularFashion #NYFW2024 #NYFW

Circ® and ANDRITZ continue to join forces to scale innovation and create a truly circular fashion industry. Conor Hartman, our COO, said it best: “With its expertise in engineering and building large-scale process equipment, ANDRITZ is the right partner to help us transform textile waste into recycled fibers on an industrial level.” This continued collaboration strengthens our ability to lead the charge toward circularity at-scale and we’re thrilled to have ANDRITZ’s expertise in large-scale engineering by our side🌍♻️
🌍♻️ Pioneering Circularity in Fashion: We have received an engineering order for a landmark textile recycling plant from Circ®. 👉 The order sees ANDRITZ and Circ® continuing their longstanding collaboration, advancing an innovative textile recycling process for more circularity in fashion. Taking the next step in this exciting project, we are now developing further engineering plans to best upscale Circ's innovative concept process to separate and recycle polyester and cotton from blended textile waste. ♻️👖 ⏩ This project marks a major step forward for circularity in fashion, bringing us closer to a world where textile recycling can be done at scale. #SustainableFashion #CircularEconomy #TextileRecycling #ANDRITZ #Circ

Reminiscing on one of the most energizing spaces I have had the privilege of speaking at - The Explorers Club during New York Climate Week. Such a powerful raw, and honest conversation on fashion waste with my fellow panelists Samina Virk, North America CEO of @Vestaire Collective and Elizabeth (Liz) Ricketts, Co-Founder And Director at The Or Foundation; moderated by changemaker Sophia Li, and introduced by Jennifer Gootman of TORY BURCH. A huge shoutout to Dana Davis, who curated and brought this discussion to life. Through our conversation, we were able to educate and discuss the problem of textile waste in a room of #Climate enthusiasts who are constantly exploring new ideas around conservation. We spoke about the solutions that already exist, the challenges that are still ahead of us, and the collaboration needed to continue to drive this industry forward. On November 6 and 7, Fashion for Good analyst Jyotsna Gopinath visited alumnae Circ® and Syre. During both visits, Jyotsna had the chance to meet team members, tour the pilot plants, and hear about each company’s scaling plans. Her key takeaways from the visit: ✅ Innovations in the textile-to-textile recycling space are constantly improving, requiring real-time troubleshooting and implementing of unique solutions to address the complexity of valorising textile waste feedstock. ✅ Strategic partnerships to secure waste feedstock as well as to accelerate product development with key partners throughout the supply chain are necessary for unlocking implementation and scale. ✅ The roadmap to scale is unique for each textile recycling innovator, however, collaborative action across the industry can allow innovations in this space to move forward together to create lasting change. It was a great time visiting our alumni recyclers and learning from their R&D teams. Thank you to Matthew Parrott & Chris Luft from Syre and Taylor Greene and Andrew Talarico from Circ® for the warm welcome and insightful visit. It was a pleasure to see you all in person, and we look forward to the next visit! Here are a few snaps from Jyotsna’s visit to Circ ↓ #FashionInnovation #FashionTech #FashionforGood #FutureFashion #SustainableApparel #TechForChange

Last week, Raz Godelnik invited me to speak about my career building #sustainable #materials for the fashion industry for his class Ethics and Economics of Sustainable Design at Parsons School of Design - The New School. We discussed the challenges that innovators in this space face, as well as collaboration needed for the development and incorporation of new materials in fashion value chains. I was thrilled to see the interest in the space and the astute observations and innovative ideas that the students were coming up with. In a world where we are bogged down with systemic challenges preventing adoption of new materials, I was filled with hope and inspiration for the next generation of students to help bring on the change we need in this industry. Kudos to Raz Godelnik for teaching this class and helping shed light on the problems and grow interest in this field right at the university level.
