The national think tank for child protection. Fostering change through policy and legislation.
About us
Children's Healthcare Is a Legal Duty USA (d/b/a CHILD USA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit think tank housed at the University of Pennsylvania. The current child abuse and neglect statistics are staggering; they are also incomplete. CHILD USA identifies the deficiencies in law and public policy that endanger children, does the legal and social science research to better understand the issues, formulates the better approach, and helps facilitate laws and policy that truly protect children. Each of CHILD’s research projects examines a problem at the intersection of the law, medicine, and policy. These analytics will inform public policy to effect meaningful change and better facilitate a child-centered society. The ultimate goal is to use this information to protect each and every child from abuse and neglect.

We were so honored this extraordinarily brave survivor performed at our 2020 Annual Gala Awards. Very exciting to see her passing project coming to fruition! #LaraStJohn From The Philadelphia Inquirer: "Lara St. John had her own story about sexual abuse in classical music. What she didn’t know was how widespread it is. Since The Inquirer published her story in 2019, St. John has received hundreds of accounts of sexual harassment from women and men." https://lnkd.in/eQhmzbxr
