We've had some awesome opportunities to train with our regional partners in recent weeks. We were proud to host the sixth annual Central Virginia Negotiations Conference, which brought more than 100 police negotiators from 21 agencies together to learn and network. And, our Community Engagement team participated in a joint training with the DLA Police Department and other partners. Keeping Chesterfield and Central Virginia safe is a team effort, and we're thankful to have such outstanding partners.

As we approach the holiday season and the end of another year, we want to take some time to showcase something we don't always talk about: our heart. Our heart is centered in providing outstanding service to our community -- we have been doing it since 1914, after all -- and it is reflected in the actions of our dedicated men and women. Want to know more? In the following video, you can listen to what our officers have to say. Does this sound like a place you want to live, work and play? Check out joinccpd.org to apply today and tune into our page over the next few weeks as we release more videos on what it means to serve as a Chesterfield County Police officer.

There's a reason why we refer to our Patrol Services Bureau as, "the road." If you sign up to be an officer, you are going to be driving... a lot, and through our state-of-the-art training facility, we make sure that we are setting our recruits up to be excellent and, most importantly, safe drivers. Looking for a career that gives you all the tools you need to succeed? Check out joinccpd.org! There's still time to join our next academy! #driving #Cfield #ilovemyjob

In honor of Veterans Day, we wanted to look back to a special moment for CCPD and our military brothers and sisters this year. "To say that I was honored to have been asked to do this is an understatement," said CCPD Captain Grohowski as he reflected back on his involvement in the 2024 Run for the Fallen event, hosted by our partners at U.S. Army Fort Gregg-Adams. Among many current Chesterfield Police employees, Captain Grohowski participated in this year's event to recognize former Chesterfield County Police Officer and Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael Gray (U.S. Navy) who died while serving in 2004. "I had no idea how well attended and supported, both by the military and the public, this event was. There was such energy in the stadium where the open ceremony took place." During the event, survivors and Gold Star families carry banners around the base’s track, officially kicking off the event with what is called the Survivor's Lap. Several of our sworn and professional staff members proudly carried Officer Gray’s banner both this year and in years past, ensuring his memory and sacrifice are never forgotten. Not only did these members run the 5K, but a detective of ours did so while wearing a 30lb ruck! Even Captain Grohowski went above and beyond by running the whole 5K in his Class A uniform, including leather gear, vest, belt, tie and hat. We are thankful for all participating members, and their dedication to keeping Officer Gray's memory alive year after year, ensuring that his sacrifice is never forgotten. Photographer credit Juan F. The Analytic and Strategic Operations Center, or ASOC, brings critical information streams – live feeds from cameras, images from license plate readers, and data from other integrated technologies – together into a central location manned by specially trained analysts and police officers. Seconds matter in an emergency, and the ASOC will allow officers to respond faster and with more precision to unfolding incidents. For more information about the ASOC, please visit https://lnkd.in/euQVS5Xn.
