California is accelerating clean transportation with new updates to its Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS). The 2024 amendments include: ✔️Incentives for medium- and heavy-duty EVs ✔️Expanded funding for equity-focused projects ✔️New pathways to grow fast-charging infrastructure in underserved areas Small fleet operators and low-income communities stand to benefit the most from these changes. About us
Center for Sustainable Energy® (CSE) is a national nonprofit that accelerates adoption of clean transportation and distributed energy through effective and equitable program design and administration. Governments, utilities and the private sector trust CSE for its data-driven and software-enabled approach, deep domain expertise and customer-focused team. CSE works in over a dozen states that are home to a third of all Americans. We effectively, efficiently and equitably launch, manage and optimize incentive programs valued at over $4 billion including: • The largest, longest-running EV incentive program in the U.S. • The largest statewide EV charging infrastructure program in the U.S. • The largest solar program for multifamily affordable housing in the U.S. CSE’s fee-for-service business model frees it from the influence of shareholders, members and donors, and ensures its independence. Our vision is a future with sustainable, equitable and resilient transportation, buildings and communities.

Congratulations to the state of New Jersey on reaching over 200,000 electric vehicle registrations. That’s more than double the number of EVs on the road compared to two years ago, thanks in part to financial incentives like Charge Up New Jersey. Administered by CSE on behalf of New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, Charge Up New Jersey offers residents up to $4,000 off the purchase or lease of a new EV – right at the dealership. Since 2020, the program has distributed more than 40,000 EV incentives. 🚘 Read more: https://lnkd.in/ge7_m6dr

Growth in #EV adoption depends on the availability, reliability and accessibility of public #EVcharging infrastructure. Updating technology requirements and operational standards and ensuring transparent, accurate performance metrics will support a user-friendly EV ecosystem. In a new article in Forbes, Stacy Noblet of ICF and Vartan Badalian, Esq. ⚡️ Director, CSE outline key strategies for an EV future based on discussions with industry leaders at VERGE 2024. https://lnkd.in/gdWc_w2d

🚗⚡ I’m thrilled to have co-authored a new article in Forbes with Stacy Noblet, discussing the critical factors driving the future of EV adoption and the results of an industry workshop we led on public EV charging. While 2025 promises more EV sales, the pace could slow unless we address key challenges in public EV charging infrastructure. Some of the big takeaways discussed in the article include: 🔋 Updating and simplifying EV charging 💡 Improving data standards and accuracy 🔄 Revisiting the business models for charging ⚡The transition to the North American Charging Standard Check out the full article to dive deeper into the discussion! https://lnkd.in/eMZ_5f4q #EV #ElectricVehicles #ChargingInfrastructure #Sustainability #Innovation #Forbes Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE)

Electrification and home performance rebate programs have become essential tools for reducing carbon emissions, lowering energy costs and supporting the transition to a cleaner energy system. Here are Clean Power Research’s thoughts on how utilities are streamlining these programs.
As #utility electrification and home performance rebate programs grow, manual processes become bottlenecks. Learn how utilities are effectively streamlining these programs in our recent blog: https://lnkd.in/gEQmm8B9 #utility #solar #renewables #rebate #electrification

Federal funding for Solar for All is a game-changer—but it’s just the start. For SFA funds to meet the needs for solar and energy storage projects in low-income communities, it’s critical to ensure that two elements seamlessly work together – project installation and project financing. CSE's Gabrielle Stebbins discusses the critical steps. https://lnkd.in/gW3hiAHK

Despite overwhelming support in the California legislature, Senate Bill 1118, aimed at expanding solar access to Native American families through the SOMAH Program, was vetoed. This bill would have removed deed restriction barriers, enabling more tribal communities to benefit from energy savings and sustainability incentives. While the veto of SB 1118 caused CA to miss an opportunity for now, SOMAH will continue to increase clean energy, decrease harmful emissions, reduce monthly energy bills for low-income Californians and reduce ratepayer costs.
