We, at CATAL1.5°T Initiative, aim to strengthen local climate tech ecosystems in the Global South, to contribute to keeping the global warming close to 1.5° Celsius — and we can only achieve this through teamwork and collaboration.  The regional CATAL1.5°T platforms in Latin America and West Africa are run by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with Climate-KIC, TECNOLÓGICO DE MONTERREY and Investisseurs & Partenaires - I&P. The CATAL1.5°T Initiative is funded by the international Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the German  Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). 🎉 A triumphant conclusion for Cohort 1 of UX in Climate from West Africa! 🚀 This edition was defined by innovation, commitment, and climate solutions. 🌍 🌱 Inspiring highlights:  💡80 women trained across the sub-region: Senegal, Togo, Benin, and Côte d'Ivoire. Together, they form a powerful network of climate change ambassadors!  ✨Innovative projects designed by participants, now ready to embark on an acceleration process to maximize their impact. 🌍Over several weeks, participants learned to apply UX methodologies to address climate challenges, develop actionable solutions, and collaborate in teams to co-create the future. Discover how Poceram, a CATAL1.5°T accelerator participant, is making a difference.    🏠 POCERAM, founded in 1975, produces high-quality stoves with ceramic inserts and sustainable building materials, tackling deforestation and energy access challenges in Burkina Faso. 🌍 West Africa: A Rising Force in Climate Action 🌱 From CATAL1.5°T Climathons inspiring local communities to West Africa’s first climate ventures driving innovation, the region is leading by example in tackling the climate crisis. In Climathons across 8 countries in West Africa, grassroots leaders and changemakers are crafting bold, locally driven solutions to combat climate challenges. Throughout October and November, these climathons united citizens, entrepreneurs, and experts to collaboratively develop practical solutions for urgent local climate issues. Simultaneously, new climate ventures are emerging, transforming ideas into impactful projects that create tangible change.
