  • Our first recommendation for anyone seeking to resolve a company's cash flow issues is to 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁. Someone with experience can help you implement systems that monitor, manage, and maximize your cash flow and profits. • Working with an expert allows you to 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁 significantly different from traditional accounting methods. • They'll create 𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, whether facing a short-term cash crunch or aiming for long-term stability during growth periods. • They can 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 through margin enhancements and cost adjustments. To get the most out of this partnership: 1. 𝗕𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 and provide complete access to your financial systems. 2. 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 with relevant certifications and a 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘪n improving cash flow and profitability. 3. 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 to ensure they understand your unique circumstances and goals. Investing in a cash flow and profitability expert is an investment in your company's financial future that will give you a return. Their guidance and support will help you navigate cash flow complexities and confidently enhance profitability. Stop letting cash flow problems hold your business back any longer. • Yes, it's sad. Really sad. "Expert" cash flow advice is killing companies. Too many popular cash flow strategies found in publications like Forbes, Entrepreneur Magazine, and The Wall Street Journal give advice that is short-term and reduces cash flow in the long term. The result? A short-term cash influx but ongoing cash flow issues. Learn strategies that work long-term and increase profits. Even more important, learn our 5-step model for implementing cash flow systems beyond cash flow modeling. • ❓Are you going to Hector Garcia's leading-edge conference: 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰❓ Reframe 2024 is focused on influential conversations for accountants. (No, I'm not an affiliate. I've just heard great things about the conference.) If you are going, I highly recommend meeting Anushka Handa from FinQuan. She's flying in from Delhi #India for the conference. She's a partner for me and a lot of my associates.  Her team allows us to grow and expand without adding headcount. Even better, I can focus more on providing cash flow advisory services. Let me know in the comments below if you want me to introduce you to Anushka!

  • Sometimes, people are surprised to learn that becoming a cash flow and profit advisor can take years. I'm trying to understand why because it's like learning a new language and a new way of thinking. Sandler Selling has a great line: "𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿." This is true for any life skill. Here's an example: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀? When thinking about cash flow, the first question should be: Are these accrual or cash-basis accounting? If they are accrual, the reports are almost entirely useless for cash flow purposes, especially the P&L. Yes, you can create a "statement of cash flows." But that is not the point. The point is, if you are first thinking about taxes, the chart of account structure, or anything other than cash flow, it's because you are not fluent. Here is a real-life analogy: Today, a taxi driver asked me, "What part of Portugal are you from?" He was shocked to learn I was from the United States. I had an accent, but he mistook it for a different Portuguese-speaking country. I've been working on learning Portuguese for about 30 years. It's never come naturally to me, but I've worked really hard at it, including 80+ trips to Portuguese-speaking countries, reading contracts, speaking Portuguese with clients and colleagues, etc. I've made my goal. I'm not saying it takes 30 years to learn cash flow and profit advisory, but understanding all the pieces takes time. • It takes time to learn how to 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 "𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸." • It takes time to learn 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 the 𝟮𝟮𝟬 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 are, 𝗛𝗢𝗪 to implement them, and 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 to use them. • It takes time to learn to 𝗱𝗶𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 so you can help make permanent changes. The best life skills take time to learn. Understanding small business cash flow and profit and how to impact them is a skill every trusted financial advisor should have. Your thoughts? The finance professionals who learn my structured system for improving small business cash flow and profitability help improve business success rates. I talk about cash-flow on podcasts, television, and at conferences.

What can you learn from the NFL 🏈 playing its first game in South America last night, here in Sao Paulo #brasil? 🇧🇷 The lesson is: if your geographic market is saturated, find new geographies to sell to! The NFL is doing everything it can to gain market share in the US: - More teams - More games - More ways to watch BUT… they are already the biggest sport in the USA! Now they are trying to go internat🇩🇪 🌎 - Recruiting players from around the globe, even if they’ve never played the sport! - Playing more games each year outside the United States: London, #england 🇬🇧and Munich, Germany 🇩🇪 are two more examples If YOUR market is saturated, look at adding a new market. My recommendation is to stay close to home. Distance creates challenges. Before investing a lot of money in offices or a new location, try adding sales in the new location through remote salespeople or other partnerships. • People say, "Cash is King, "but don't actions speak louder than words? Why don't we have robust systems to manage cash flow effectively?  Why is cash flow management only a function in larger companies? In my interview on Behind the Numbers with Dave Bookbinder, we discussed common misconceptions about cash flow and how it profoundly affects a business's sales, marketing, and operations.
