Climate Resilient Development Pathways in Metropolitan Regions of Europe
About us
The CARMINE project is at the forefront of addressing the escalating challenges posed by climate change, particularly in European metropolitan regions. Our mission is clear: to foster climate resilience through a multi-level approach that merges impact-based decision support services with innovative climate governance strategies. At the heart of CARMINE is a commitment to co-create and co-develop actionable tools, strategies, and plans that empower local communities to adapt and mitigate the effects of climate and weather extremes. By collaborating closely with stakeholders, decision-makers, and policymakers, we are forging cross-sectoral frameworks that prioritize resilience and adaptive capacity. The project is funded by the European Union as part of the Horizon Europe research and innovation funding programme.

💡 Exploring Systemic Pathways to Resilience at COP29 Azerbaijan On November 14th, during COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, Sustainable Development Solutions Network President Jeffrey Sachs and SDSN Global Climate Hub Chair and SDSN Europe Co-Chair Prof. Dr. Phoebe Koundouri participated in a high-level panel discussion hosted by SDSN Global Climate Hub and AE4RIA - Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Αephoria on “Systemic Pathways to Resilience”. 🦾 Joined by eminent experts and policymakers, they delved into the interconnectedness of climate resilience, with a particular focus on the energy, land-use, and food sectors. The discussion touched on key themes that are in line with some #Horizon2020 and #HorizonEurope projects SDSN is contributing to: 🍃 ARSINOE_EU: Focused on shaping pathways to resilience by integrating the Systems Innovation Approach (SIA) and Climate Innovation Window (CIW) to build an ecosystem of solutions for climate change adaptation. https://lnkd.in/e_4t6wr9 🍃 Climate Impetus: Working with policymakers, businesses, and communities at local and regional levels, IMPETUS uses ‘Resilience Knowledge Boosters’ (RKBs) to co-create and share knowledge for climate resilience. https://lnkd.in/dHyedSAy 🍃 CARMINE Project: Co-developing a knowledge-based framework for adaptation and mitigation through bridging the gap between science and practice and co-creating actionable tools, products, and services that enhance cities' climate resilience and support decision-making. https://lnkd.in/ehJX4jXg #COP29 #Sustainability #ClimateResilience #SystemicInnovation #Horizon2020 #ARSINOE #IMPETUS #SDSN
