On Monday, we met with Women's Economic Ventures (WEV) to award it a $227,667 CalMoneySmart grant! We celebrated WEV’s remarkable impact on Central Coast communities and its commitment to advancing the economic empowerment of women. We were joined by key leaders, including Elizabeth Smith, Deputy Commissioner of Communications, DFPI; California State Senator Monique Limón, Algely Comia Linville, Field Representative of the Office of CA Assemblymember Gregg Hart; Irene Kelly, Associate Director of Financial Inclusion, WEV; Nicki Parr, Chief Executive Officer, WEV; and Ryan Valencia, District Director of the Office of CA Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin, State Assembly. We were also honored to meet community members who have been supported by WEV’s programs and hear about their journey to financial stability.
