🌍Speaking the World: Multilingualism and Cultural Fluency in the Professional World🌍
In an increasingly interconnected world, multilingualism and cultural competence are no longer optional skills, they are essential to addressing the complex challenges of our time. Every language is a key, every culture an open door to deeper understanding and human connection.
As a passionate educator and dedicated leader for over 23 years, I am more convinced than ever that our education systems must embrace profound transformation. Traditional learning approaches, once sufficient, no longer equip us for today’s realities.
This book reminds us of a crucial truth: speaking a language is not enough. It’s about learning to listen, not just to respond, but to understand. It’s about adapting, showing tact, and building authentic human relationships.
To learn a language is to learn to coexist. To open oneself to other cultures is to build bridges where walls exist.
This is the work I’ve been committed to since Primary school, introducing philosophical dialogues where children explore their deepest questions. In these spaces of psychological safety, they grow in discernment, humanity, and respect for one another.
We must prepare future generations to become global citizens curious about others, respectful of differences and capable of forging meaningful, lasting connections.
This is how we will build peace: by transforming education at its core. It demands that we unlearn how we manage, lead, teach, and educate, and relearn in ways that align with the new realities of our world.
I invite you to discover this timely and inspiring book by Mehdi Lazar, PhD and Fabrice Jaumont. It deeply resonates with my vision of education and of living together harmoniously.
Together, let’s cultivate a world where languages and cultures unite us, rather than divide us. 🌏💞
