The holidays always bring back fond memories of filming "Storefront Stories" for Magnolia Network, especially this episode featuring Maman, a cozy café in NYC’s Little Paris. With its warm, rustic design inspired by the South of France and personal touches from the founders’ childhood homes, Maman truly captures the magic of the season. Relive the charm with us by watching S1 E1 of "Storefront Stories" on Max or Discovery+.

Blue Chalk contributor Eric Maierson recently had the privilege of interviewing the legendary photojournalist Annie Griffiths for NPPA Magazine. Annie, one of the first female photographers at National Geographic, shares insights about her trailblazing career, founding Ripple Effect Images, and empowering women globally through storytelling.
An interview with Annie Griffiths: " ... just get out there, just, you know, drink in the world ... Go someplace where you get out of your comfort zone ... and you don't know how to say, please pass the rice."

Exciting news! We’re proud to announce our new documentary project “Atomic Veterans"! As the 80th anniversary of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings approaches, the psychological and physical scars of these events—on both sides of the war—remain unknown to many. “Atomic Veterans” follows two friends, Karin Tanabe and Victoria Kelly, descendants of survivors and soldiers on opposite sides of the war, as they embark on a shared journey to understand the trauma of the past. Through powerful interviews and personal exploration, the film sheds light on the shared pain of both the “hibakusha”—the estimated 650,000 Japanese survivors of the bombings—and the estimated 200,000 American “atomic veterans” who responded in the immediate aftermath. Support the film: Help us bring this important story to life by donating through The Film Collaborative (link in comments). Contributions are tax-deductible. Join us in ensuring these stories are never forgotten. #AtomicVeteransFilm #BlueChalkMedia #SupportIndieFilm #Hiroshima #Nagasaki

Check out these photos from our private community screening of "Firebreak" in Los Angeles! The evening included a powerful Q&A with the film’s protagonists, The Forestry and Fire Recruitment Program's Brandon Smith and Royal Ramey, alongside director Kenzie Bruce and members of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles who generously sponsored the event. A truly special moment was welcoming the women from Malibu Conservation Camp #13. Seeing them connect with the film was incredible. A huge thank you to everyone who made this unforgettable night possible! Learn more about "Firebreak" here: firebreakfilm.com #FirebreakFilm #BlueChalkMedia #FFRP #LegalAidLA

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication to Brooklyn for a session on the Business of Storytelling with our CEO, Greg Moyer, and CRO, Pam Huling. This program has visited us for several years now, and it’s always a pleasure to meet such talented and enthusiastic students. A favorite part of the day is our interactive game where students take on creative roles and compete for work from “clients.” The challenge? To build the best team, deliver quality work on time, and maximize profits—just like in the real world. The creativity and enthusiasm they brought this year were a joy to see. Thank you, University of Oregon, for continuing to include us in your NYC journalism tour! Excited to see what these bright minds achieve in the future!
