BLFA funds programs in East Africa focusing on the support needed for children to complete curative cancer treatment

About us

BLFA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Seattle, Washington, that funds programs in East Africa focusing on the medical, logistical, and social support for children with cancer. BLFA believes that where you live should not determine if you live. The stark differences in childhood cancer cure rates between High Income Countries and Low Income Countries are deplorable. Many childhood cancers are highly treatable with a cure rate of 80% in High Income Countries, compared to 20% or less in Lower-Income Countries. To accomplish our mission BLFA provides grants to nonprofit and healthcare partners who work directly with families and cancer patients. With our partners, we advocate for what these children and their families need. We educate families and communities to recognize the warning signs of cancer. We improve diagnosis so families have the answers they need to make choices. We reduce treatment abandonment through innovative programs that support the needs of cancer patients in low-income countries like transportation, housing during treatment, and special nutritional support while away from home. We know it takes a village to reach a village, and a cure.

    Talent Acquisition at Pfizer

With the acquisition of Seagen by Pfizer, some of my HR colleagues are redundant to roles that already exist at Pfizer. Seagen has stellar HR employees. If you know of any roles in HR including Business Partners, Benefits, Total Rewards, and Talent Development, please reach out to me. You don't want to miss out on some of the best talent I have worked with throughout my career.
