We're delighted to announce that Eliza Morgan has joined Birmingham Panthers as our new Franchise Pathway Lead. With a lifelong dedication to netball and over 24 years of experience, Eliza is well-positioned to lead the development of emerging netball talent across the West Midlands. Eliza joins us from England Netball, where she excelled as a Development Community Coach and Central Pathway Lead, identifying and nurturing performance squads. Her journey in coaching began a decade ago, and today, she also leads the YWCA Bury Netball Club, guiding National and Regional Premier League teams. Her experience extends beyond netball, as she’s represented England and Great Britain in handball, adding a valuable perspective on resilience and elite performance. As Franchise Pathway Lead, Eliza will oversee a network of 435 players across 16 hubs, ensuring these young athletes receive the mentorship and skills to elevate their game. Her vision focuses on instilling confidence, camaraderie, and excellence within our players, preparing them to excel on and off the court. Eliza's passion and expertise make her an invaluable addition to the Panthers family, and we’re excited to see her impact on the next generation of netball stars. Sian Lawrence has been appointed as the Franchise Director of Birmingham Panthers, bringing her extensive leadership experience from the financial services sector to this new role. Her appointment comes at a critical time for the Panthers as they prepare for their inaugural season in the Netball Super League. Sian will lead the franchise’s operational and commercial strategy, ensuring its long-term growth and success. Her responsibilities include overseeing ticketing, merchandise, game day experience, marketing, facilities, and community initiatives, all while fostering a cohesive and dynamic organisation. Sian’s deep passion for netball, having been involved in the sport as a player, coach, and administrator, complements her professional expertise. This role allows her to combine her decades of professional skills with her love for the sport. Sian’s personal connection to netball extends to her family, with her daughters competing in performance pathways and her husband participating in mixed leagues. She views her new position as an opportunity to inspire the next generation of female athletes across Birmingham and the West Midlands, while promoting values such as teamwork, resilience, and female empowerment. Sian is committed to creating a supportive environment where players can thrive both on and off the court. She also highlights the importance of representation in sports leadership, aspiring to be a role model for young girls interested in sports management and operations. As she prepares the team for the upcoming season, Sian aims to leave a legacy for the local community and the future of netball in the region.

An incredibly exciting day at the start of September saw the Netball Super League (NSL) take centre stage as all eight Clubs revealed their 2025 squads via live player and coach interviews on Sky Sports News. These eight interviews, with seven NSL athletes and five NSL Head Coaches, featured live on Sky Sports News, reaching over 147,000 sports fans. This outstanding live coverage from Sky Sports News was accompanied by interviews with NSL stars on BBC Sports News and BBC Radio 5 Live as well as a host of regional media coverage, giving players, coaches and Clubs the opportunity to share their exciting news with wider sporting fans and driving significant digital and social engagement. Achieving over a remarkable 4.8 million social impressions on League-wide social channels, along with a League-wide reach of over 2 million, the announcements generated exceptional engagement and resulted in a 136% increase in NSL website page views when compared to average page views in the week prior. This is a clear demonstration of the passion, dedication and commitment of NSL fans as well as the potential for continued audience growth as the League embarks on a new era in 2025.
