The anticipation of judgment, the fear of underperforming, and the general stress associated with these reviews can overshadow their intended purpose – growth and improvement. If you're among those who view the performance review cycle with trepidation, it might feel like it's too late to make any significant changes for the better. However, there’s a glimmer of hope on the horizon. Understanding the Dread Before diving into solutions, it’s crucial to understand why performance reviews often elicit a sense of dread.
