65% of respondents update their JDKs regularly, but 10% only apply updates when critical issues arise. This gap in security practices puts applications at risk. For 21% of respondents, business leaders don’t view upgrading Java versions as urgent. Yet, this approach incurs technical debt that can impact long-term profitability. Older Java versions often struggle to handle growing request volumes, consume more resources, and drive up operational costs, as they require more infrastructure to achieve the same outcomes as newer, optimized Java versions. ❓ How much does this choice cost? Almost 23% of organizations allocate budgets specifically for performance improvements on Java 11 and earlier.
