ESG execs have always spoken the language of risk. Risk of a company falling out of compliance with global regulations. Risk of losing an enterprise deal because of a weak sustainability commitment. Risk of employee churn due to poor working conditions. Risk isn't new. That's why I think ESG execs have taken to climate risk so well. It's about measuring the financial impact of climate disasters (hurricanes, heat waves, drought) on a company's bottom line. It's environmentally related, so it gets tossed on their plate. But its material to the entire company in ways everyone can understand. We all know what a hurricane is. We all appreciate that sales go down if customers are dealing with flooded homes. That's real risk. I'm very, very excited about what we're building at Beehive Climate. If you're thinking about enterprise climate risk for the first time, call me. If you've been doing climate risk for years but want something beyond consulting powerpoints, call me. We've got to talk. #tcfd #climaterisk #esg
