From Legacy to Leadership: Shaping Miami's Future Together At last year’s Annual Meeting, our former Chair, Yolanda Cash Jackson, Esq., reminded us of the power of unity: when diverse communities come together, we create spaces that thrive. This year, we’ve carried that vision forward under the extraordinary leadership of Juan Carlos Liscano, our new Chairman of the Board. Together, we’ve set new records, reached new heights, and laid the foundation for Miami’s next chapter. Now, it’s time to celebrate our achievements and dream boldly about what’s next. Join us on January 15, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the InterContinental Miami Hotel for an unforgettable evening with Chairman of the Board Juan Carlos Liscano, President and CEO Rodrick Miller, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Chair-Elect Christine Barney, APR, and some of Miami’s most influential leaders. Reflect on our community’s progress, connect with visionaries shaping Miami’s future, and engage in meaningful conversations that will drive our beautiful county forward. A heartfelt thank you to our presenting sponsors, Florida International University and American Airlines, and our incredible partners, Florida Power & Light, Baptist Health, Northeastern University Miami, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, for making this event possible. Your commitment to our community fuels our shared vision for a greater Miami. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate Miami’s progress and help shape its future. Childcare isn’t just a family issue—it’s an economic one. With $5.38 billion lost annually in productivity due to childcare challenges, our President & CEO, Rodrick Miller, joined regional leaders to tackle this crisis. Together with the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and key partners, we’re advocating for solutions that prioritize families, strengthen the workforce, and drive economic growth. It’s time to make childcare access a cornerstone of Miami-Dade’s future. #BeaconBuildsMiami #ChildcareSolutions #EconomicDevelopment
📉 The Childcare Crisis in FL 📉 Rising childcare costs and limited access are placing immense pressure on families and businesses. According to a report from the Florida Chamber, Untapped Potential in FL, an estimated $5.38 billion is lost annually in productivity due to insufficient childcare access, along with $911 million in lost state tax revenue—a staggering economic impact we can’t afford to ignore. This past Monday, December 16th, our President and CEO, Alfred Sanchez, joined key partners like Madeleine Thakur, President & CEO of The Children's Movement of Florida, Evelio Torres, President & CEO of the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe, and Rodrick Miller, President & CEO of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, for the Children's Trust Panel Proposal to address this pressing crisis. Here’s how the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce is driving change in the upcoming legislative session: ✔️ Advocating for benefits cliff abatement through adjusted School Readiness eligibility thresholds and recurring funding. ✔️ Lobbying for meaningful relief to families while simultaneously strengthening the workforce pipeline. ✔️ Partnering with policymakers like Senator Alexis Calatayud and Representative Vicki Lopez to ensure childcare access remains a top priority. Together, through continued advocacy and partnerships, we can tackle the childcare crisis, ensuring both families and businesses thrive.
