The impact of local EMS can't be understated – these first responders work hand-in-hand with us to save lives each day. Shoutout to the Wilson County ESD 4 EMS crew in Floresville for successfully treating and transporting a heart alert patient who went on to receive treatment at Mission Trail Baptist Hospital! On-the-ground medical treatment and safe, fast transportation is a critical component of any patient's outcome, and we're so grateful to work with these professionals. Way to go, guys!

Help us congratulate Alicia Johnson, an RN in Couplet Care at St. Luke's Baptist Hospital! Alicia is the most recent winner of the DAISY Award, an honor given to nurses who display compassionate care for their patients. November is National Diabetes Awareness Month and several of our hospitals hosted events to promote awareness and share knowledge with our employees and the community. Diabetic-friendly snacks were served to encourage a healthy approach toward food choices. Special guests included: Registered Dietitian Interns (BMC), University of the Incarnate Word Pharmacy Interns, other PT & RD support as well as Sarah Tabbutt from City of San Antonio Metropolitan Health District. Big thanks to our BHS Diabetes Educators: Aurelia Hernandez, MTB; Mary Bissland, SLB; Lianna Messer, WHB & Stacey Wolff, BMC. 1 in 3 San Antonians lives with diabetes. Know your risks and stay on top of management if you've been diagnosed. We're here to help. https://lnkd.in/gxUqwVVw

Welcome to the Baptist family, Sydney Orchard! We love getting to work with young leaders in healthcare. Learn more about the growth opportunities available at BHS 👉 https://lnkd.in/edBxTc6u
Sydney Orchard is excited to announce she will be completing her residency with Baptist Health System in San Antonio, TX this January! Sydney chose to pursue her residency at Baptist because of the unique opportunities it will provide. Baptist Health System includes multiple hospitals across San Antonio, each of which serves a different area/neighborhood with their own specific needs. The city of San Antonio is growing, and Baptist will play a major role in responding to the evolving market. Sydney is most excited to learn from her preceptor, Thomas McKinney. She knows that this experience will allow her to grow her healthcare knowledge, leadership skills, and relationships. Sydney would like to thank her professors for granting her the chance to join this amazing program and for being such great teachers. Also, her classmates made these past few semesters so much fun amidst the chaos and academic stress, so she would like to thank them. Lastly, her mom who has been her rock through it all.
