About us

Take the power back with frontlit reflective displays. Azumo technology , LCD 2.0, sips power at a 90% lower rate than backlit LCDs, is intrinsically safe, and is certified for industrial and medical uses. The frontlit reflective LCD module is the next step in devices and works in various applications. With LCD 2.0, devices can run for a week on a single charge and can go wherever we need them to with visibility in direct sun and pitch darkness. Our reflective display modules remove the restrictions around how and where we can look at our devices, and what they can do for us.

  • Traditional edge-lighting, represented in Figure a, shows LEDs lined along a sheet of similar thickness. Both front lit ePaper displays and back-lit LCDs use this approach and reduce LED "hot-spotting" at the display edge by simply applying a 2D compensation to the light extraction pattern. However, this method cannot be used in the RLCD systems because the hot spots move with viewer's position. Figure b, shows the Azumo system, which includes a proprietary Lightbar for efficiently and uniformly coupling light into film that is much thinner than the size of the LED.   • Imagine a car where light does more than just illuminate - it becomes part of the design. By molding our transparent light guide directly onto the A-surface of automotive materials, designers can achieve striking high-resolution images and graphics that appear and disappear seamlessly. Why does the A-surface matter? When the light guide film sits on top, it eliminates the need for backlighting through extra materials. This allows for sharper visuals, better control, and a sleek look that's impossible to achieve with traditional lighting solutions.

    Reflective liquid crystal displays (RLCDs) offer the benefits of traditional backlit LCDs—high resolution, good color, high refresh rate and robust manufacturing—while having the additional benefits of very low power and sunlight readability. This is achieved by effectively replacing the LCD backlight with a mirror. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲, 𝗥𝗟𝗖𝗗𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 (𝗙𝗟𝗣).     𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝟳𝟮+ 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 Problem: Aarcomm faced negative customer feedback around power hungriness and being unable to view the screen in low-light areas. Solution: Aarcomm sought out a new display technology other than backlit and quickly discovered the Azumo display module. Azumo's frontlit reflective display modules offer some essential key benefits that Aarcomm needed for the Trident. What made the difference? 🔋 Minimal power draw — Azumo cut down on power draw drastically. With the new battery savings, the Trident has a 125-hour battery life. ☀️ Sunlight readability  ↔️ Space savings ✅ Ease of use
