It's a great honor for us to share that our Chairman, Lt. Col. Vijay Tomar (Retd.) was invited as an honorable speaker at the World Sustainable Development Summit 2024, organized by TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute to mark the completion of its 50 years. Colonel Sir primarily discussed topics related to the socio-economic business model for Compressed Biogas (CBG) production, benefits for farmers, policy formation and its implications, scalability of the CBG sector, and the provision of Piped Natural Gas for rural areas. His recommendations for boosting the Biogas Sector in the UP State- 1. CBG plants may give the 3% Bank Guarantee of Project cost to UPNEDA at the time of submitting subsidy applications 2. Maximise CBG plants in Rural areas, increase the local demand for CBG, and minimize the Pollution from Old tractors, by offering Govt subsidies to Farmers for conversion of Diesel tractors into CNG. 3. NFL should tie up with upcoming CBG plants for purchase of bio Fertilizers by empanelment other than working plants. 4. Govt should create a Credit Guarantee fund for CBG Plants in line with the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) to facilitate collateral-free credit for MSMEs in the livestock sector. 5. Gaushala must be collocated with CBG Plant sites. 6. NGOs wanting to undertake gaushala maintenance from CSR of CBG Plants must be promoted with inter-ministerial coordination. 7. Training establishment be promoted under skill Development Misson under CBG Plant CSR 8. PSUs be encouraged to convert to CBG power supplies in remote areas where turnaround distance is more than 75 km and turnaround time is more than 5 hours. 9. Pipelines be laid for remote areas by OMCs. Alternatively, replace cylinders or the Ujjawala scheme with PNG for a radius of 10 km. 10. The requirement of three years of balance sheets and credentials be waived off for FDI companies in the selection process.
