✨ Living the Future I Once Dreamed: Bringing My Book to Life with AR 📖🔮🌌 Back in 2017, I was captivated by Prosthetic Reality by EyeJack—a book that showcased how AR could bring static images to life, hinting at a future where reading could be truly interactive. This AR-driven vision felt like a glimpse into what could be and sparked memories of when I first entered publishing and fell in love with augmented reality in 2009 when I was selling advertisers on AR-activated magazine pages and was inspired by groundbreaking early uses, like Esquire’s iconic Robert Downey Jr. cover. Today, I’m thrilled to see this vision come full circle with The Next Dimension, a book about AR that also uses AR to bring its cover to life. Including augmented reality in this project was must for me; I wanted readers—especially those new to the tech—to have a direct, hands-on AR experience. 🌐 📲 Here is how readers will experience it: 1. Scan the QR code on the back cover. 2. Point your smartphone at the front cover to trigger the WebAR experience crafted by EyeJack with Niantic’s 8th Wall technology. 3. Watch as the book becomes a series of portals that transform a virtual butterfly as it moves between the physical and digital worlds. 🤖 Alongside this AR experience, The Next Dimension also AI activated. Readers can scan QR codes within the book to connect to a dedicated GPT fine-tuned on the content, enabling them to explore topics, dive into chapter insights, and “talk” with the book itself. Our future is full of possibilities where AR and AI awaken the ordinary, turning everyday items into extraordinary experiences.
