Gardner Village, a community of 108 affordable housing units for seniors ages 55+ in the Adamsville neighborhood. Named after the prominent community leader and educator Juanita H. Gardner, this community symbolizes our collective commitment and care for our seniors. From modern amenities like a fitness center and business hub to its proximity to MARTA, the Juanita H. Garnder Village has been thoughtfully designed to enhance quality of life. This project is a testament to what’s possible when organizations unite to tackle Atlanta’s affordable housing challenges. At Truist’s Celebrating Homeownership Event, Pat Evans, our Director of Homeownership Programs, took the stage alongside an inspiring panel to discuss innovative ways to make homeownership more accessible—especially for first-time homeowners of color. As two powerhouse HBCUs gear up for an exciting game on the field, we’re proud to celebrate a milestone of our own: Atlanta Housing’s Down Payment Assistance (DPA) program has awarded over $30 million to help more than 1,900 families achieve the dream of homeownership. At the HOPE Global Forums Idea Lab: The Future of Affordable Housing, industry leaders, including Atlanta Housing President & CEO Terri M. Lee, came together to explore solutions to the affordable housing crisis. The panel covered a wide range of topics—from innovative financing models to addressing the challenges of gentrification and zoning barriers. Terri shared how Atlanta Housing is tackling affordability through initiatives like the Bowen Homes transformation, leveraging $520M in investments to create sustainable, inclusive communities. The conversations sparked by this diverse group of experts are pushing us closer to real, actionable solutions.

Today, Atlanta Housing hosted a Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) Landlord & Resident Connection Event that brought together Housing Choice Voucher recipients and landlords with available rental properties. This event bridges the gap between housing opportunities and those seeking a place to call home. Last week, Atlanta Housing hosted a Holiday Night Out, bringing joy and connection to our cherished senior residents. The event featured delicious food, lively games, and meaningful fellowship, creating a warm and festive atmosphere to celebrate the season. This gathering was the first of several celebrations to spread holiday cheer and show our seniors how much they mean to our community. A big thank you to the incredible AH staff and everyone involved in making this night so special. Together, we’re building stronger connections and brighter holidays.

Yesterday, we broke ground at The Proctor, a new multifamily development that will bring much-needed affordable housing to Atlanta’s Westside. This development deal is the first of its kind, offering Class A luxury amenities in modern, energy-efficient homes designed to support families of all sizes and incomes. With 41 units dedicated to AH voucher recipients, this development prioritizes sustainability and community-centered design to create a vibrant and inclusive neighborhood for our residents to call home. Thank you to our partners, the City of Atlanta, Windsor Stevens, Atlanta Urban Development Corporation (AUD), Rod Mullice, Basis Investment Group, LLC ("Basis"), Goldman Sachs, and Invest Atlanta for your support in making this vision a reality. We had an amazing time giving back and helping families get ready for the holiday season at our annual Harvest Share this past Saturday. Thank you to our incredible staff, volunteers, and partners who made it all possible! 💛 Atlanta Housing's offices will close today at 3 p.m. and remain closed through Friday, November 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
