Let us repeat this: Only 4% of sports media space is devoted to women—and most of it focuses on the elite level. The Women's Game film is here to change that narrative. Through the lens of Alexia Vanlaere, this powerful documentary spotlights women across seven countries who use sport to drive social change. Share your stories of sport changemakers changing the women's game below or by email: [email protected]. We would love to connect. #Womensgame #sportforchangemaking
Only 4% of sports media space is devoted to women. And when we talk about women in sport, it is mostly at the top level. Women's Game aims to change the narrative by highlighting women who use sport as a lever for social change. In seven countries around the world, Alexia Vanlaere sets out to meet these inspiring women who are changing the game to positively impact the world. Among them : - Cecilia, a mountaineer like no other, from an indigenous community where she was told that mountains were not a place for women. Today, she climbs South America's highest peaks in her traditional dress. - Dana, a co-founder of a 100% women’s cycling collective aiming to democratize the sport for Bahraini women and embody freedom. - Janice, a former Muay Thai world champion who shares her passion in Bangkok's largest slum to keep children away from violence and drug trafficking. This documentary puts the spotlight on women as change-makers and demonstrates how sport can truly transform lives. Stay tuned for the movie’s release in 2025!
