  • Earlier this month, the Ascendco team was back in Idaho, helping three St. Luke’s facilities transition to SQ.Track. We had the opportunity to work with some incredible teams during the implementation, and their focus and collaboration made the process smooth from start to finish. It’s always rewarding to see organizations take this big step forward, and we’re excited to support them as they settle into SQ.Track. Looking forward to seeing our friends at St. Luke’s again in 2025! #Ascendco #SQTrack #HealthcareInnovation #Teamwork

  • Project kick-offs may seem simple, but they often become disorganized, leaving team members unclear about their roles and responsibilities. Miscommunication at this early stage can derail the entire project's success. Imagine launching a project only to find that team members are working toward conflicting goals, causing frustration, costly delays, and wasted resources. Without a clear understanding of everyone’s contributions, the collaborative spirit needed for a successful go-live can quickly fade. To avoid these pitfalls, choose Sonar. With its smooth implementation process and real-time visibility into operations, Sonar ensures alignment and sets your team up for success from the start. #PoweredbyAscendco #HealthcareInnovation

  • 2024 was a year of development here at Ascendco! We focused on feedback from clients around key development initiatives and module advancement. Modules like Loaners received a full revamp with new submodules to help better organize loaners trays and advancement in linking to the scheduling interface for the to the surgery tracking. Adding the ability to build out user roles within the facility module creating a simplier way to track what certain staff have access to within the system. And lastly, an end of the year development with tracking risk score for clients related to processing and sterile processing demand. We cannot wait to see what our development team has in store for 2025! To learn more visit, https://zurl.co/Fest! #Ascendco #SPD #OR #Sonar

  • Ascendco's Super User Conference is an annual event designed specifically for Sterile Processing professionals. It’s a unique opportunity to explore the latest innovations, learn best practices, and maximize the value of analytics and software in day-to-day operations. Shaquea White, a Sterile Processing Manager with 20 years of experience, called it the most beneficial conference she’s ever attended. She left with actionable insights on using analytics to drive even better outcomes in her department. To everyone who attended the Super User Conference: how are you applying the insights and takeaways to your work? We'd love to hear how you’re leveraging the tools, strategies, and innovations shared at the event to make an impact in your department!

  • Surgical instrument errors pose a critical challenge for sterile processing departments, affecting patient safety and operating room efficiency. Studies reveal that 88.6% of observed errors stem from failures in visualization tasks such as inspection and identification, often exacerbated by high-stress environments. These errors cost hospitals up to $9.42 million annually in lost OR time. Dr. Peter Nichol compares sterile processing complexity to airplane manufacturing, emphasizing the importance of rigorous data analysis. “Data is key to identifying where and when issues occur,” he notes. He advocates for adopting AI and machine learning to enhance accuracy, reduce reliance on manual inspection, and mitigate human error. The studies found that implementing these technologies, combined with reduced workplace stress and improved workflows, could lower the Risk of Error Score (RES) by up to 75%. By offering advanced tray tracking and quality event monitoring, digital resource management pinpoints issues in real-time, helping facilities proactively address errors and prevent contaminated or malfunctioning tools from reaching the OR. This capability significantly reduces patient risk outcomes, minimizes delays, and optimizes sterile processing efficiency.
