In 2020 we first heard Zach Bush, MD speak about Regenerative Agriculture in such a powerful, simple, and effective way. It really connected the dots for us as a family and brand about the essence of what we set out to do, and became a guiding light for our vision and direction forward. We found the Farmer's Footprint heart and essence to be so in line with ours - full of hope, passion, and possibility for reconnecting human health back to the roots of soil and ecosystem wholeness. We dreamed of some day collaborating and unlocking the beautiful story behind our products with this amazing group of talented and aligned storytellers! Seeing this completed video, reading this gorgeous post, and participating in The Ripple Effect with Farmer's Footprint is a deep joy and honor for us! We hope you enjoy and engage with the possibility of a regenerative future with us!
Every decision we make, every product we choose, every bite we take, creates ripples—reaching deep into the soil, the hands that nurture the Earth, and the communities that depend on it. The real question is: What kind of ripples are we creating? What if choosing what we eat could be part of a much larger story, one that fosters positive change, responsibility, and even joy? These are the questions we’ve been asking ourselves lately. When we look at our food systems today, we see something broken. The connections between the land, farmers, and the people who rely on them have frayed, replaced by a model that values efficiency over ecology, profit over people. Yet, amidst this brokenness, there are stories of hope—stories of regeneration and resilience. Which is why we’re excited to introduce The Ripple Effect, a new multimedia channel to share these impactful stories. This series takes you into the heart of those working at the roots of regeneration, showing the powerful connections between farmers, businesses, and communities, and how their collaborative efforts are transforming the way we grow and consume food. Our goal is to invite you into these stories, showing how intentional choices—whether on the farm, in the marketplace, or at the dinner table—can create ripples of change far beyond the harvest. Our first story takes us to Colombia, where Oscar Agudelo, a biodynamic regenerative farmer, works in a reciprocal relationship with Artisan Tropic, a cassava and plantain snack brand. This isn’t just a story of the farmer and brand working hand in hand, but of a man pioneering regeneration in a place where chemicals abound. Artisan Tropic, a family-owned company, has built its brand around partnerships like this, rooted in family and aligned values. Their commitment to regeneration runs deep. So, we invite you to take that first step with us. Dip your toes into this current of change, and discover Oscar’s journey in our first feature of the Ripple Effect. Head to https://lnkd.in/e4Md7Nz5 and explore how one farm in Colombia is creating ripples of change that touch lives and landscapes far beyond its borders! #PlantainFarming #RegenerativeAgriculture #FarmToSnack #FarmersFootprint Juan Pablo Guzman

Seed oils sound straightforward enough: oils that come from seeds, right? Seeds come from plants, plants are healthy, seed oils must be healthy too, right?!! On closer examination, they’re not truly what they seem, and they’re definitely not what they’ve been touted to be throughout the years. The terms “seed” and “vegetable” oil are often used synonymously. Vegetable oils are the broader category that seed oils fall under, with seed oils coming namely from the seed part of the plant. Corn, soybean, cottonseed, canola, sunflower, grapeseed, rice bran, peanut, and safflower oils all fall under this category. You’ve undoubtedly come across these oils in your day-to-day food forays. Pick up nearly any processed food off the grocery store shelf or dine at most any restaurant and you’ll find some form of seed/vegetable oil present. Used for its neutral flavor, ability to handle high heat, and cheap production, seed oils are used in a vast number of processed foods from cereals, chips, crackers, canned goods, fried foods, nut and oat milks, protein shakes, salad dressings and mayo, even baby formulas... One of the very first retailers to bring Artisan Tropic on shelves when we started was Harris Teeter, and we've been very thankful for that opportunity for many years now! We're excited to announce they've added a SKU that isn't in many locations nationwide, and it's hit stores this week! Our Naturally Sweet Plantain Strips are truly a whole food, sweet-tooth indulgence that you won't feel guilty about eating, or sharing with your family and kiddos! Just 2 ingredients: - Premium Colombian Plantains (naturally ripened by Mother Nature to bring out the sweetness without adding sugar) - Sustainable Colombian Palm Oil (an ancestral cooking oil that's been used in tropical cultures for hundreds of years, derived from the fruit of the palm, not the seed, stable at high temperatures, not oxidized and toxic for humans) If you're near a Harris Teeter, please grab a bag or two, or share with a friend who might be near one. We'd greatly appreciate you spreading the news! THANKS!!
