Creating connections within the community helps to strengthen the mission of the ARPG Council. We are proud to support the American Indian Center of Arkansas for their #ResilienceisRedGala this weekend. ❤️ We are forever thankful for the opportunity to listen to the history and witness the resilience of the Native Americans from the Quapaw (O-GAH-PAW) tribe, passionately narrated by committee chair Wena Supernaw. Special thanks to all Board Members, Family and Friends that helped to join together to celebrate the spirit of resilience of our tribal communities of Arkansas and Oklahoma.❤ #AmericanIndianCenterofArkansas #resilienceisredgala #arpgcouncil

This November the Arkansas Problem Gambling Council recognizes #HomelessnessAwarenessMonth, the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness and living with mental or substance use disorders. The council took time this weekend to tour the local Our House Shelter and make lunch for residents. We acknowledge the importance of understanding the resource needs of the community. Did you know that around 2.5 million youth experience homelessness each year. Homeless youth face many challenges, including trauma, substance abuse, early parenthood, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder. See what SAMHSA is doing to prevent and end homelessness among these individuals: https://lnkd.in/gj888KhN
