Got some great news last week -- an article we've been working on for more than a year was published in the Journal for Community Engagement and Scholarship. Our article is all about broader impacts, the potential for university research to benefit society. I spend almost all day every day thinking about this! We interviewed five community partners to ask for their perspectives on a new digital tool that researchers can use to improve the societal relevance of their research. Our partners suggest three ways this toolkit could be improved moving forward, underscoring the importance of relationship building to any Broader Impacts activity. Our work was funded by ARIS, Advancing Research in Society, and the National Science Foundation. ARIS Impacts National Science Foundation (NSF) You can read our article here https://lnkd.in/gFS6wqEK and the entire special issue here https://lnkd.in/ggKGC5GJ And check out the toolkit here: https://lnkd.in/gdpAUEgS Many thanks to my Montana State University colleagues and co-authors, Nicole Motzer, PhD, Nika Stoop and Daniel Grant, Ph.D., to our project leaders Janice McDonnell and Susan Renoe, and especially to our partners who took their time to share their perspectives and how we can strengthen our relationships going forward.
