We're headed to Nuremberg for SPS – Smart Production Solutions! 🇩🇪 Stop by the Industrial Shields® booth (hall 5, stand 346) to meet with an Arduino application engineer and check out an automated room control system demo based on the Arduino Opta micro PLC. In the demo, door locks, lights, and room temperature are easily kept under control thanks to an intuitive human-machine interface (HMI), allowing guests to enjoy a tailored experience throughout their stay and staff to efficiently monitor room settings remotely. The Opta’s I/Os enable users to connect environmental sensors to detect temperature, pressure, light, and presence; data is then visualized on an Arduino Cloud dashboard simulation via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Modbus RTU over RS485 is used for managing the HMI touchscreen, while relays operate the door’s opening system.
