  • Working with the Salem, NH school district, and the non-profit End 68 Hours of Hunger, Appli-Tec sponsored four families, with a total of ten children, for Christmas this year. Each child received every item on his or her list -- from much needed clothing items, such as socks and gloves, to toys. The entire Appli-Tec team had a wonderful time shopping for gifts and wrapping them. A public not-for-profit organization established in NH in 2011, End 68 Hours works to provide nourishing food to school children who may experience hunger between the free lunch they receive at school on Friday afternoon and the free breakfast they receive at school on Monday morning. The organization accepts food and cash donations -- as well as holiday gifts.

  • The case for 100% traceability of your adhesive material begins when you call to say, "I'm in the middle of an audit. Can you forward . . . ?" At Appli-Tec, we understand the critical importance of traceability, which is why we’ve had 100% traceability for decades. By “100%,” we mean we trace everything, beginning when you place your order with us to when it ships out the door. This means if you’re ever audited, we can tell you who did what, when, where, and how – and send you the supporting documentation. Our process guarantees meticulous lot-to-lot traceability: https://lnkd.in/e4TtUrwZ

  • A silver-filled epoxy, Appli-Tec's 5230 combines long pot life and room temperature cure. It also features a bio-based curing agent – meaning it’s sustainably sourced. The material is ideal for bonding applications and can be used as a cold solder for delicate, heat sensitive components; it's also electrically and thermally conductive. 5230 Epoxy is available in bulk kits and premixed and frozen syringes, and it meets NASA’s low outgassing requirements. • Many of the adhesives used in aerospace applications are two-component systems. The problem, however, is that weighing and mixing components together in-house often leads to: ❌ Weighing errors or under-mixing ❌ Contamination ❌ Time-consuming and expensive rework ❌ Scheduling delays Worse yet, undiscovered problems can affect these adhesives and critical hardware in space -- where repair isn’t feasible and failure isn't an option. For these reasons, engineers turn to Appli-Tec's Pre-Mixed and Frozen (PMF) Adhesives. Meticulously processed to exact specifications, Appli-Tec’s PMF adhesives guarantee consistent results. Rigorous testing ensures every batch of material performs the same. • Do you know the key difference between potting and encapsulation? Both processes serve to protect sensitive components or assemblies from environmental exposure. Often used interchangeably, potting and encapsulation are similar processes but differ in one key way. 👉 A potted part, such as the one seen in the photo, often has a housing that holds the assembly and the potting adhesive – the adhesive is in the final part. 👉 Encapsulation, on the other hand, often doesn’t involve a housing or external container for the adhesive. Learn more about these two processes -- and bonding, too: https://lnkd.in/evu8dgY6 #industrialadhesives #pottingelectronics

  • Appli-Tec now offers stocked parts for our most frequently ordered adhesive formulations. The benefit of stocked parts is they ship within five business days on receipt of PO – versus 15 to 20 days for normal orders. View the list of parts we currently stock; we plan on increasing this list in the coming months: https://lnkd.in/egWXAPDJ Stocked parts are available as pre-mixed and frozen 5 cc syringes (left) or room temperature stable 2-Part Kits (right), with standard labels. #adhesives

  • To encapsulate a small section or component of a circuit board, a process called “dam and fill” can be used (see illustration). The dam is built in layers using a thixotropic adhesive. A lower viscosity, or flowable, adhesive is used for the fill material. The dam holds the fill material in place during the cure process. If you’re using dam and fill for a manufacturing run, automated equipment works best for creating the dam as it provides uniform layers quickly and easily. Two of our adhesive materials, Appli-Thane® 7800 and Appli-Thane® 7810, are well suited for dam and fill applications. A flexible aerospace urethane, Appli-Thane 7800 features a long pot life and room temperature cure. It also meets NASA’s low outgassing requirements. With low modulus and low Tg, it’s a suitable substitute for many silicones in electronic applications. A free flowing material, Appli-Thane 7810 is easily reworkable, and meets NASA’s low outgassing requirements. • "But we don't have a freezer." Customers who are considering adding our Pre-Mixed and Frozen Adhesives to their process bump up against one main challenge: the purchase of an ultra-low temperature freezer. Purchasing a major piece of equipment can be tough to justify if you're not sure if outsourcing your adhesive mixing will save you time and money (it will). To allow you to "try before you buy," we offer our Freezer Rental Program. Yep! You can lease a 1-cubic foot ultra-low temp freezer month-to-month. The freezer plugs into any standard U.S. electrical outlet and maintains a temperature as low as -70°C. We'll either deliver it to you if you're within driving distance or ship it by crate. • Mixing a two-part adhesive with an unequal mix ratio is tough. Even with a calibrated scale, extra drops or not enough drops of the curing agent will adversely impact adhesive performance. We’ve made mixing a two-part adhesive super easy with our new thermally conductive 5340 Epoxy. Packaged in 1:1 cartridges, all you do is attach the mixing nozzle and go! Request a sample: https://lnkd.in/emeG8dnB The 1.0 W/mK material delivers high lap-shear strength and excellent adhesion, an important consideration for potting and bonding applications where good thermal conductivity is critical. And, it’s RoHS compliant! #adhesives
