November is Children's Grief Awareness Month. Why raise awareness? Unsupported, unresolved grief often results in school failure, sleep issues, anxiety, depression, risk-taking behavior, self-harm, and even suicide. It takes kids longer than people think to adapt to life without the person who died, and their inner turmoil can last through adulthood. Annie's Hope seeks to raise awareness of the devastation and long-term challenges faced by grieving children. This month we are dedicating all of our efforts in helping grieving kids know they're not alone. #kidsgriefmatters

Today, June 19, 2024, we recognize Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. It is a day of celebration, and this year those celebrations may resonate in new and different ways. We encourage our followers to take time to explore this new resource from the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture. "Talking About Race is a new online portal designed to help individuals, families, and communities talk about racism, racial identity, and the way these forces shape every aspect of society, from the economy and politics to the broader American culture" (NMAAH, 2020). https://lnkd.in/dHUBWme
