🌟 Angels for Change Supports Bipartisan End Drug Shortages Act 🌟 We are thrilled to announce that Angels for Change supports the End Drug Shortages Act. This critical piece of legislation aims to tackle the ongoing drug shortage crisis through additional transparency between drug manufacturers, the FDA, and pharmacies to improve the mitigation of shortages. We are incredibly proud to share that project PROTECT played a role in inspiring this bill. Thank you to all of our Partners, Protectors, and Donors who make PROTECT a success. We will continue to work tirelessly for positive change that directly impacts the lives of patients and families impacted by drug shortages. Every drug shortage has warriors fighting for their lives. Every Warrior has a story. Today's Warrior Wednesday, we share Gavin's shortage story. Diagnosed with Chon's disease at age 5, Gavin finally reached remission through a taylored treatment plan and he was thriving — until Methotrexate went on shortage. "You never know when you or someone you love will face a diagnosis, only to be told the necessary medication is unavailable." Christina, Gavin's Mother. *project PROTECT Announcement* Fagron Sterile Services US (FSS) has completed the Preparation and Protective phases for preservative-free Dextrose 70% injection solution. The significance of this achievement is highlighted by the recent flooding at Baxter's North Cove manufacturing site due to Hurricane Helene, which prompted the U.S. FDA to include Dextrose on its drug shortage list. Dextrose will remain accessible to vulnerable patients, especially PICU and NICU babies, amid anticipated supply chain disruptions. "Our partnerships with trusted organizations like Children’s Hospital Association and Fagron, are preventing disruptions in care for our nation's most vulnerable patients. I would like to thank them for their commitment to patient care." said Laura Bray, founder at Angels for Change.
