Keep Safety on TRACK: Cold Weather Injuries Prevention Spending time in cold temperatures for an extended period of time can cause injuries such as hypothermia, frostbite, and trench foot. Here are some tips to prevent cold weather injuries: 1. Dress in layers to adapt to changing temperatures or physical activity; wear the proper clothing for cold, wet, and windy conditions such as wool or synthetic insulated socks, shoes, gloves, and hats 2. Work on-site together so co-workers notice danger signs in each other 3. Drink plenty of warm beverages; avoid caffeine 4. Take breaks in a heated area to warm up if needed 5. Seek medical attention immediately if someone is experiencing symptoms of hypothermia, which includes - but is not limited to - uncontrolled shivering, slurred speech, loss of coordination, fatigue, confusion, or disorientation A special thank you to Keystone Contractors Association and Executive Director, Jon O'Brien, for this week's #ToolboxTalk #KeepSafetyOnTRACK #ColdWeatherInjuries #Prevention #Railroad

As a Corporate Champion of Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), American Track is committed to supporting WWP in their effort to deliver life-changing programs to over 100,000 wounded warriors, their families, and caregivers. Our appreciation for service members and veterans extends to our own American Track family. Today, we highlight Robert Bloss - Procurement Manager in our Fort Worth, Texas office. Prior to joining American Track, Sergeant Bloss served in the United States Marine Corps for 5 years. Robert notes the most transferrable skill he gained from his military experience is teamwork. Robert notes, "Everything we did was only successful if we did it together. And not just going through the motions together, we had to really care about each other, respect each other, and push each other toward our shared goals." Please join us in thanking Robert for his service to our Country!
