Happy Halloween! 🎃 Yesterday, ANCOR was proud to support member National Children's Center (NCC) in the "Hallo-READ" event on the South Lawn of the White House! NCC CEO Terrance King joined Maliya, Luci and their teacher Katrina McCray for the Sensory Friendly Reading Session. 📖 We love events that prioritize disability inclusion! We're grateful to the White House for the invitation and for members like NCC and the work they do every day to make our communities more inclusive. ❤️

We have been proud to represent the U.S. disability services community at the conference of our colleagues at EASPD - European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities. We're especially inspired to see such a strong contingent of ANCOR members gathered in Athens with disability professionals from across Europe!
Hello from autumn conference of EASPD - European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities! — "Opening doors: How can disability support services unlock the open labour market." I here representing Keystone Human Services and ANCOR / The ANCOR Foundation. I am especially appreciating the reciprocal and growing relationship between EASPD members and ANCOR members, challenging each other, and supporting each other. #Employment4All #StrengthsBased #RightsBased #Allyship

When we name what privilege is and actively work to recognize how it shows up in the workplace, it can be a tool to leverage positive organizational change. We invite you to join us on Wednesday, October 2 at 1 pm EDT for our next community conversation, Turning Privilege into Progress. In this FREE webinar, we’ll unpack how privilege—whether it’s rooted in your role, your lived experiences, or your access to certain spaces—can be a powerful tool for progress. We’ll explore practical ways to advocate for others, share knowledge, and dismantle barriers through intentional actions. By the end of the session, you’ll feel empowered to use your personal and organizational capital to create lasting, positive change. To join us next week or to receive the recording, register for free today: https://lnkd.in/gCzZxND8

We’ve had an incredible two days in our nation’s capital at the 2024 Policy Summit & Hill Day! Over 250 leaders from around the country came together to advocate on behalf of community-based disability services. Yesterday was filled with learning from national experts and policymakers, and today we've been holding hundreds of meetings on Capitol Hill representing over thirty states! Thank you to our sponsors, Mutual of America Financial Group, Sandata Technologies, and TaskMaster Pro (TMP) for making this event possible, and thank YOU, members and friends of our incredible community, for your unwavering commitment and advocacy. #NewNowNext

Every day of the year, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) work in communities across the country to support people with disabilities. From community integration to in-home services to employment supports and more, DSPs help make what was once inaccessible to many people with disabilities—their community—a reality. This week, September 8-14, is DSP Recognition Week, a time to celebrate and elevate the direct support workforce. Join in the celebration and share your messages of gratitude to DSPs using #DSPRW2024! Thank you, DSPs, for all you do. You are the heart of disability services and supports, and we couldn’t do what we do without you.
