About us
America Is All In (All In) is the most expansive coalition of leaders ever assembled in support of climate action in the United States. Mobilizing thousands of U.S. cities, states, tribal nations, businesses, schools, and faith, health, and cultural institutions, the coalition is working alongside the federal government to develop a national climate strategy that meets the urgency of the climate crisis; scaling climate action around the country to empower workers and communities; and promoting the leadership of non-federal actors on the world stage. Led by UN Special Envoy Mike Bloomberg, Washington Governor Jay Inslee, Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles, Apple Vice President of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives Lisa Jackson, and former White House National Climate Advisor and 13th U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy, and climate champions across the country, the coalition is working to cut U.S. emissions in half by 2030 and reach net zero emissions by 2050, while guarding against the impacts of climate disruption. Coupled with whole-of-government action on climate, All In champions a whole-of-society mobilization to deliver the transformational change that science demands, with the goal of a healthy, prosperous, equitable, and sustainable future. Educational institutions, from public K-12 schools to universities and more, play a critical role in advancing #ClimateAction and engaging the next generation in the power of the clean energy transition. 🚍This year, Baltimore City Public Schools, like so many others, brought students to school in a new fleet of electric school buses thanks in no small part to federal funding opportunities – including the #InflationReductionAct and #BipartisanInfrastructureLaw. In addition to the health and educational benefits of this transition, electric school buses are also a more affordable option for schools. Watch Baltimore City Public Schools celebrate their new electric fleet: https://lnkd.in/ez3-MTRx 📚UndauntedK12 is celebrating the first of many checks from the Inflation Reduction delivered to school districts for clean energy improvements. West Union Elementary School in Iowa received a $800K tax credit for replacing its failing steam boiler with a new heat pump HVAC system! At The University of New Mexico, a new rooftop solar array on their Student Union building will pave the university’s path to sustainability through federal funding from the Inflation Reduction Act. On both the national and global stage this year, #AmericaIsAllIn showcased the power of subnational #ClimateAction.🌎 While much of subnational climate action happens at the local and state levels, #ClimateWeekNYC and #COP29 are important venues for learning from one another, sharing successes, and fostering cross-sector collaboration for even broader climate benefits. Governors, mayors, private sector partners, leaders in environmental justice, and more came together in New York City, NY in September and Baku, AZ in November for critical climate conversations to help: 🌎Achieve global climate goals 🌎Advance sustainable energy investments 🌎Confront the injustices of the #ClimateCrisis 🌎Accelerate the implementation of federal, state, and local policies 🌎Leverage climate-efficient building standards 🌎Elevate subnational voices Read our Climate Week NYC Recap: https://lnkd.in/gUvbSVKG Explore our COP29 Recap: https://lnkd.in/eyTxs-_G

"They were using so much energy because of the hospital bed that they were facing a utility shut off." – Dr. Anna Goldman, Primary Care Physician and Medical Director of Climate and Sustainability at the Boston Medical Center ☀️If power was what was needed to support her patients’ care, Dr. Goldman was ready to write a prescription. In a first-of-its-kind solution to helping patients with complex, chronic illnesses — such as diabetes and high blood pressure — keep their electricity running at home, Boston Medical Center (BMC) developed the Clean Power Prescription program. 💰The pilot program, 60% funded by the #InflationReductionAct, now relies on 519 solar panels generating energy on BMC’s rooftop. Half of the solar energy produced goes toward powering BMC, while the other half is used to provide patients with a $50 monthly credit to use for their utilities. They have plans to expand the program with an additional $11 million in solar installations so BMC can continue helping patients who need the financial support. From growing a vegetable garden for patients to sharing renewable energy to help reduce their living costs and more, #AmericaIsAllIn member BMC understands the importance of addressing all factors that continue to impact human health — including those driven by the #ClimateCrisis. 🎥Watch to learn more about the program: https://lnkd.in/eMD4ifyB 🔗Dive into BMC’s story via NPR and in partnership with WBUR and KFF Health News: https://lnkd.in/eM8ZjjnN

Clean energy continues to be one of the fastest expanding industries in the United States this year – with #CleanEnergy jobs growing more than twice as fast as the overall economy in 2023, according to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). To ensure that American workers can maximize on these job opportunities, workforce development programs are surging across the country.📈 On the 2024 #AmericaIsAllIn nationwide tour, we stopped in Philadelphia, PA to see how workforce development is supporting current and future clean energy workers across the city. Keep reading to learn more: 🛠Students at Mayfair Middle School can participate in a Career Training Education Building Trades program, the first and only program available to middle school students in Philly, and learn about the wide spectrum of renewable energy careers available. https://lnkd.in/eNFVVj6V ☀️The first of its kind in the nation, Philadelphia Energy Authority's Bright Solar Futures program trains high school students to have a myriad of technical skills, including solar and battery storage installation, weatherization, construction basics, job site safety, and more. https://lnkd.in/e-hFCJYj 🎓The Green Retrofit Immersive Training program, led by the Energy Coordinating Agency (ECA), includes hands-on activities, an internship, and guaranteed placement into living wage jobs with contractors working on green home retrofits. https://lnkd.in/e5Cs-NPH Programs like these are not just happening in Philadelphia – they’re blossoming throughout the country. States across the country are empowered under the #CleanAirAct to improve air quality in their communities. And today’s #AACII waiver will help them do just that. Car exhaust is a significant danger to #PublicHealth – especially to vulnerable populations like children, older adults, and low-income households. #CleanerCars standards means cleaner air, healthier communities, and the continued economic growth of the EV boom.
