One of our United Pilots is the purrfect pal to man’s best friend, rescuing over 1,000 animals through his charity, Last Hope 4 Paws. Capt. Ramin Pourteymour houses animals in his own home, covering the cost of food, medical care and grooming until a forever home is located. He's no stranger to taking on challenges. You can read about how he escaped a war-torn country only to become United’s youngest pilot at the time in the latest issue of our magazine ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eKYswkBm

Time and time again, examples in the air and on the ground highlight that the presence of at least two highly trained and well-rested pilots on all commercial airline flight decks at all times is a major factor in why airline travel remains the safest form of transportation.
The threat of single-pilot operations on commercial aircraft is very real, and it’s right around the corner. That’s why we’ll keep fighting every day to keep two pilots on the flight deck during all phases of flight. #SafetyStartsWith2

It sounds ridiculous but make no mistake –– Airbus is trying to move forward with this concept and aggressive timeline. It’s not a far-off idea that’s decades away; this threat is right around the corner and it’s why our #SafetyStartsWith2 coalition is pushing back on all fronts.
There’s the timeline ⏰ ----> we could have single-pilot operations on commercial aircraft within five years if Airbus gets their way. But we won't let them. #SafetyStartsWith2
