A win for healthcare and participants! The Internal Revenue Service updated the definition of preventive care under high-deductible health plans (HDHPs) to allow a broader range of services without requiring employees to meet their deductible first. This change lowers barriers to care, promoting proactive health management and better long-term outcomes. For those with health savings accounts (HSAs), this ruling offers even greater value. Expanded preventive care coverage means employees can focus their HSA funds on other eligible healthcare expenses while still accessing essential services upfront.
