Ahold Delhaize USA is proud to announce that Food Lion Executive Vice President, Retail Operations Greg Finchum, will assume the role of President of the brand in May 2025.The appointment comes after Meg Ham, President, Food Lion, announced that she will retire next year. Finchum joined Food Lion in 1989 and has been in his current role for more than a decade. A proven leader in delivering consistent sales growth and strong financial performance, he has played an integral role in the strategic repositioning of Food Lion and led initiatives to evolve the brand for the future.   “We are excited to have Greg, a talented retail operator at heart, step into this role,” said JJ Fleeman, CEO, Ahold Delhaize USA, in a press release. “Greg has held a variety of roles throughout the organization, including having served as head of strategy and head of retail services. He leads with a strategic discipline and focus that delivers strong results and solid performance at Food Lion. The companies of Ahold Delhaize USA are dedicated to supporting their local communities, and this holiday season, The GIANT Company is focusing its giving efforts on hunger relief efforts, announcing donations of $160,000 and 3,000 hams to organizations addressing food insecurity in their local communities.

Building on our commitment to understanding and reducing emissions across the value chain, we’re proud to announce our third farmland-focused Scope 3 pilot program. Over the next three years, Ahold Delhaize USA will work with The Campbell's Company to reduce Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with potato farming. This collaboration will support partner farms to implement regenerative farming techniques to create more resilient agricultural systems and reduce carbon emissions through soil health practices and other opportunities. Last week, VP of Pharmacy Services Moira OToole attended the Drug Store News Annual Industry Issues Summit. The event gathered leaders in the pharmacy sector to discuss industry trends and opportunities. Moira participated in a panel discussion on retail pharmacies and how they can enhance the customer experience and create loyalty. “The right tools enable brand pharmacists to dedicate more time to patient care, which ultimately helps with shifting perception from the pharmacy as a transactional space to a proactive health resource customers can trust,” she noted, highlighting how the more than 700 Ahold Delhaize USA brand pharmacies focus on elevating the pharmacy experience for their customers. #aholddelhaizeusa #grocery #pharmacy

Ahold Delhaize USA today announced that Meg Ham, President of Food Lion, will retire in May 2025, after more than 35 years with the organization and 10 at the helm of the brand. A successor for Ham will be announced before year-end. “Meg has been an outstanding leader at Ahold Delhaize USA and has led Food Lion during one of the brand’s most exciting times as it repositioned itself to better serve customers, while staying true to its core attributes of low prices and convenient locations,” said JJ Fleeman, CEO of Ahold Delhaize USA.
