If you want to keep growing in your Christian life, you need to confess your sins. Not just to God, but another human being. It can sometimes feel too easy to confess your sins to God and continue in that sin the next day. But when you look another human in the eye and tell them that sin, the realness sinks in. The heaviness of that sin weighs on you. And if they are a good friend, they will also keep you accountable for this sin and help you fight the fight against it. It’s scary, but it’s worth it. The love for God that you have right now is not guaranteed. Your level of spiritual maturity can and will quickly diminish if you are not actively protecting that spiritual capital and growing closer to Jesus every day. How you manage your family is the most important thing about you. How you handle your family qualifies or disqualifies you from ministry. It needs to be your top priority. DO NOT neglect your family from the work of the ministry. Your family IS your ministry. 

God’s #1 Priority is the Family. If the church is doing well, but families are failing. The kingdom of God is failing in your area. But if the families are doing well, but the churches are no more (think of persecution, etc), God is still working. 

When God reached out to choose his people, he didn’t choose a government or a church gathering. He chose a family. He spoke to a family leader and chose to work with him. And this is still how God operates today. He wants you. He wants how you manage your family and your career and he wants to work through you and your future generations.

Surrounding yourself with people who are always living a luxurious lifestyle will end in disaster. You will either feel left out and jealous or you will be overextending yourself to keep up with those who never seem to run out of dough. Don’t do this to yourself. It only ends in disaster. 

Don’t trade more valuable treasure for less valuable wealth. If you wait until you are completely financially set before having children, you will never have them. Or miss out on so many benefits to having your children young. Do you agree or disagree? 

Don’t compare your starting point with someone else’s ending point. They started out scrimping and saving just like you. Don’t think you can fast forward to just enjoy the benefits of a comfortable lifestyle before you have sacrificed and saved to get there.
