Today is International Day of People with Disability 🌍 Today, we’re celebrating the strength and leadership of people with disabilities. The theme for 2024, “Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future,” reminds us that true change comes when all voices are heard. At Ability Heroes, we see leadership every day in the incredible people who are breaking barriers and paving the way for a more inclusive world. Let’s continue to amplify their voices, celebrate their contributions, and work together for a future where everyone is valued and heard.

In conjunction with International Day of Disability we kicked off Saturday 30 November 2024, in front of Kim Giddens, office Ardross St, Applecross. A dozen families with children and a couple of seniors enjoyed making living ornaments. We thank Kim Giddens, Member of Bateman, for supporting our community project. On Sunday at the Palmyra Western Farmers Market, many children with their parents walked away with a big smile on their faces holding their living ornament creation. We also welcomed the local Member for Bicton, Lisa O’Malley, who dropped in to visit and offered her support for our community project. Tomorrow, Tuesday 3 December, we will be holding a workshop at the Manning Library between 10 - 12 noon for all abilities to make their own personal placemat. Wednesday 4, December we will be at the Fremantle Recreation Centre between 10 – 12noon. Come down and make your own living ornament. We would like to thank all supporters regardless of their political, religious or cultural differences in building stronger communities for all abilities. We are a project for the community by the community.
