Location, Location, Location… There are moments in time, when you do video production on location, that are so perfectly present and yet otherworldly, that you can’t believe you are really there! I’m fortunate to be able to say that in the work we’ve done over the years, we’ve found ourselves in many unique, historical, and remote locations – all over the US, Europe, and the Middle East. That said, for me, there is one location that stands above the rest, because at this location we found ourselves surrounded by artistry of such amazing brilliance and magnitude, that telling the visual story pretty much just required us to hit the red record button! A best-selling author that we were working with, Lysa Terkeurst, had written a book for HarperCollins called Unglued. To bring home the core message of the video curriculum based on her book, she wanted to film the pivotal opening scene in the Accademia Gallery in Florence, Italy – with Michelangelo’s statue of David as the backdrop! Somehow, some way, we convinced the museum to give us 4 hours of uninterrupted, alone time, with the statue of David… just the crew, Lysa… and one sleepy security guard! Moments like these are what make our work, our career, our passion… so worthwhile. We have been privileged to be able to share with audiences, where we have been, what we have seen, and how we have turned that into stories that make people think, wonder, explore – and sometimes, if we’re lucky enough… actually impact their lives!
