Wherever you are in your career, there is always a space for you on LinkedIn
“The world begins at a kitchen table. No matter what, we must eat to live.
The gifts of earth are brought and prepared, set on the table. So it has been since creation, and it will go on.”
These are the opening lines of the poem "Perhaps the World Ends Here" from The Woman Who Fell From the Sky by Joy Harjo.
For many of us, the last two years of uncertainty have been a period of great reflection and the catalyst to truly identify what it is we really want from our lives. Whether you call it The Great Resignation or The Great Reshuffle, things have evolved fairly dramatically in the world for all of us.
Our global research* underlines this sentiment, with huge swathes of us spending time reassessing and revaluating our lives and careers – with 67% of people in the UK, 57% in Germany and 82% in India considering a new challenge this year. We are a workforce that’s on the move and looking for change.
What’s clear though is that the need for a supportive, like-minded community to help each other navigate the way, is greater now than ever. Our members are increasingly taking to the platform and connecting with one another to understand what might work for them in their careers today, no matter what their profession.
It’s these conversations and actions of our members that are the inspiration behind our latest brand campaign. There is a space for everyone on LinkedIn and this message is brought to life through the metaphor of an ever-expanding communal table.
The film begins around a kitchen table as a woman ponders her career options, but is soon joined by an entire community of fellow professionals who too are navigating their future. As more people pull up chairs and even additional tables to join her, this reflects how LinkedIn celebrates every kind of career, from working parents, to remote workers and side hustlers. The film draws to a close with the hero strapline: ‘Wherever your career is right now, there’s always a space for you.’
While the world of work has changed, the spirit of our community remains unchanged. We’ve seen greater diversity of conversations taking place on LinkedIn with people reaching out to their community for help and support as they consider what’s next for them. We wanted to celebrate this community spirit in our creative and we hope it encourages more people to contribute to this wonderful community.
The campaign is now live in the UK, India, and Germany and will run throughout June 2022 across TV, VOD and digital channels. Join the conversation on LinkedIn with #FindYourSpace.
