Progress Tracking: Monitor and track subcontractors' progress against project schedules. 3. Notice of Delay: Establish a formal process for reporting delays or changes.

1.Establish base line schedule 2. Show the critical tasks 3. Monitor the critical tasks whether they are within the time schedule or not 4. If the critical tasks are getting delayed then ensure the plan B to overcome such delays in critical tasks 5. If subcontractors are not performing at all , terminate the contract well in time so that project can be completed by other subcontractors

Maintaining open channels with subcontractors ensures that any concerns, whether technical or logistical, are promptly addressed without disrupting timelines. - Constant on-site supervision helps maintain momentum by resolving day-to-day issues swiftly.

The first step in ensuring subcontractors adhere to deadlines is to draft a detailed plan outlining each work and due date. Utilize scheduling tools to break the job up into phases with attainable goals. To quickly solve any problems and modify resources as necessary, schedule frequent meetings. Keep a close eye on crucial stages with quality assurance and on-site supervision. Make backup plans for complicated jobs and motivate subcontractors to address issues as soon as they arise. To keep them inspired and committed to the project's objectives, maintain open lines of communication and provide incentives for excellent work.

No contractor or sub-contractor opts to fail on purpose. In most cases reasons behind slippage are lack of expertise, inadequate resources and most importantly insufficient financial strength. Sub-contractors should be selected with all due diligence based on their tract record and work in-hand to determine their capacity to undertake the assignment. Of course, doing this is not an exact science. The lead contractor should therefore be ever ready and willing to lend a helping hand to the sub-contractor specially financially, if things begin to go south in a drastic manner. Of course, the importance to clearly defined scope, realistic timelines and efficient planning and progress monitoring holds as ever.
