Question is why force a change if the team is delivering? Change for change sake makes zero sense in my view Agile has its place but forcing it onto a team performing is illogical

The first step should be to train the team in Agile methodology, revised project metrics and the tools they would be using . They must realise the breakthrough advantages of adopting Agile and start living in sprints. Only then commitment of team would come and it would reflect in excitement, sense of belongingness and satisfaction of completing the prioritized tasks first.

A project needs to be pampered even if it is going right in a way that ensures calibrating way forward when any hurdle is encountered. In a civil construction site, using techniques to waterproof the foundation from sudden drainage/seepage of ground water is also an agile practice even if not recorded previously. Similarly, taking concurrent engineering in facilities construction when the procurement is delayed can be an example of agile methodology. All we need is to keep our eyes and ears open and our minds awake. Small irritants and suitable intervention therefore will always be there in a project.

🏀The project team should be involved in the sprint planning process. They can decide what can be done in a sprint and plan the entire project using sprints to prioritize and manage tasks. In a team, designers and developers must be willing to constantly communicate and work closely to make the agile methodology work.

Jumping in with pure Agile will likely face pushback. Big changes take a lot of effort. Start with small changes with the simpler things to pick up - scoping what the team will work on in the next 2 weeks. Hold short daily meetings. Call them check in meetings. At the end of 2 weeks, ask what could be better. Repeat several iterations and warm up the team to the other concepts of agile when they bring up improvement ideas.
