Using the word "overcome" in the title might lead you to believe you CAN control everything. That is a pipe dream. Technical errors and mishaps are part of it. Put the needed backups and redundancies in place while focusing on being adaptable. If you look at commercial flights, only 1 in 10 flights go as per the flight plan. The other 9 had to adapt en route. These crews see it as part of the process, not something you can avoid. Once you have that attitude, you will approach things going wrong with a much calmer demeanour and less stress.
