What are the best ways to maintain quality AI code?

Version control tools like Git, GitHub should be used to track code changes, collaborate with other professionals, achieve reproducibility. One major challenge without code version control is that we are unable to reproduce same results which we generated few months back, as we don't remember the code version or data version or both. Also if AI output hits balance sheet it will be audited by financial auditors, and for them reproducibility is must. It also gives piece of mind, as you know you can generate same output when asked.
