I would say whichever has the biggest business value wins. User-friendliness is not always the top priority when the new product or functionality itself is ground-breaking in its nature and ultimately solves an important problem. The usability has to be good enough and the issues can be tackled iteratively - it is more important to get a good enough version of the product out ASAP to start collecting learnings. While I believe that creating intuitive experiences is of utmost importance, it is more important to make sure what you are prioritizing truly takes the business forward. I believe that honest conversations with my stakeholders using arguments based on data are what end the tug-of-war and make the right choice clear as day.
